Je viens de tester: C, est incroyable les discussions sur Frandroid rien que pour ce seul chiffre. Sans parler de la fonction DSDA…. Just checked the Asus site and it went from new stock coming in 16hrs this morning to new stock in 15days!!

Should arrive on Monday they say. Hey thanks for the response. Previous interaction with DWI indicated a mid April delivery. Just that all the Zenfones I have seen have been grey imports. Sorry if this has been asked before.

Well I need a new phone now and not going to wait for an undefined time — yeah I know I could buy a grey import! Just seen the price has appeared for the Asus Zenfone 2 ZEML on Expansys, although like many they seem confused by the specs, in this case understating the processor speed, if the ZEML reference is correct then I think it should be 2.

Looking forward to seeing what you guys find available. My trusty Nexus 5 is now having issues, bought literally on release so at almost 18 months has served well. Other than the capacitive buttons and lack of wireless charging this phone looks perfect.

Overall positive, but the camera seems to be a major drawback, which is a shame. Maybe I should be looking at the Lenovo Vibe Shot instead. Well the jury comes down on the side of Ik88, valuebasket are doing a pretty shite job of shipping something that they claimed to have 24 of in stock.

I will probably cancel, my order in the next couple of days as they clearly lied about having stock but in any case I will not use them again. I have to say, the more I see of the phone in action, the more I like it.

Asus has done a really good job with the UI. Also, the video finally explains what “Pixel Master” means. I thought it was just marketing jargon. I hate video reviews but that was actually okay.

Makes me want to get it again Man this waiting for market roll-out is getting frustrating. It was first released “available” almost a month ago now and supplies and availability is pretty ordinary to say the least.

Some of us are losing faith Asus is a newbie in the smartphone market. Supply was always going to be very limited in March and April. They said they were making, by the end of April, and will then see what demand looks like and adjust production accordingly.

Supply issues should be alleviated by June. Before then, getting this phone in Australia is still not going to be easy. Yeah the Taiwan sellers are price gouging. Also the Chinese, HK, Indian supplies will ship soon, so that will ease the demand for the Taiwanese model.

If not, then the LG G3 32gb D is my choice of second best. Always keep options open. In fact I was just with Spintel, but changed to Optus simply for access to their web-talk app due out late next month.

An app that will replace the Home-zone box. All you guys that are talking about it not being available, sold out etc are referring to the 4gb variant right? I have been looking on eBay and I have found a Taiwan seller with great feedback and will be looking to get it from them.

It says it is instock on the listing and in the description is says nothing about it being unavailable. Should get it reasonably quick right. I am struggling to find this particular model, only found listings for the 4GB variants and p models.

Yes there are a few sellers on eBay and Aliexpress and a variety of online sellers that have some models. That is the baseline price for this model. And the price gouging only gets worse as you move up the range.

Any device, sold in Australia, that transmits radio frequency in licensed spectrum requires to pass a number of ACMA and other RF approvals to make sure it complies with the law. For further information, please refer to the URL https: Also, I do not know if it has all the frequencies for use here in Australia.

Although that begs the question — Why does Australian Customs allow any “grey import” phones into the country? Well A-tick is now being retired actually. However, for a manufacturer to sell a device in Australia, they still have to submit it to ACMA for regulatory approval.

Australian law changed in the late 80s in this regard. Telstra or Telecom, as it was back then loved this, as it basically gave them a monopoly on selling handsets. It was so bad that they actually charged you a “Telecom handset fee” in your monthly bill, to pay off the handset, irrespective of whether you actually had a Telecom handset or not!

It was the responsibility of the manufacturers to ensure their equipment was A-ticked. But as this effectively could only be applied to devices being sold in Australia, it made grey imports without A-tick, legal.

A manufacturer has to submit their device for regulatory approval in Australia. However you as a customer can import a device that is not certified and use it for your own use. Have you guys seen many reviews lately?

Does anyone know if this issue camera quality is a software problem or will it be permanently like that? So if your object is not moving, and your hand is reasonably stable, you should be able to get some good pictures with HDR.

Similarly for low light, the Low Light mode Pixel Master seems to be very good and churns out decent 3 MP shots, but that also takes a few seconds. The result you see is the capability of the hardware, I doubt it can be much improved on with software.

I mean, to me, it looks like it takes better pictures than the HTC One M9, which is three times the price! Maybe the Sony phones are better for camera the Xperia Z3 is dropping in price with the Z4 due to be released soon.

Ok so lists LTE as: You should be ok for the near future. Initially they used Mhz. So if indoor 4G is important to you, then you should care about band They have “Pre-order” for the gold and black versions.

So that implies they actually have the silver in stock which they explicitly says not local stock? I was looking through the US listings as well. Still pricey but a little cheaper then the eBay Australian listings.

Thought it was exclusive to the 64GB model? Just when I thought I had the model variations worked out Ship in 24 hours. Same day response to emails when inquiring about delivery dates and delays.

Delivery withim estimated dates in emails. Purchased on 15th and delivered on 20th. The size is perfect. After having a OnePlus One which is the same size as the 5. This phone feels like the perfect size.

Now I just need to get all my apps etc. Also, I have no idea what LTE bands it supports. The general rule is when paypal is not involved on-line purchasing is risky.

They sent the same email to a few of us stating that Best regards, Kelly — Digital World International. Some people like to actually close the apps when not using; other just leave them in the background.

If I have to choose, I probably go for cpu. They are basically the same size. In fact the Zenfone 2 is marginally taller and thicker. You will definitely notice it when bringing up things like Google Maps, or scrolling rich web pages.

At the moment yes, but in mth time I would disagree. I agreed especially the price difference is not that big so should go for the faster CPU and more storage. I have no doubt that 4GB is more future proof.

And yes, the difference between 1GB and 2GB right now is massive. I expect that in 12 months time, the difference between 2GB and 3GB to be more noticeable than what it is today.

Well actually, while the Intel Atom is “bit” capable, currently Android and all apps are running in bit mode on this phone. But currently all this talk about “64 bit processor” is another marketing gimmick, as the OS is running in bit mode anyway.

Android Lollipop should be 64bit compatible, as Dalvik changed to the ART runtime which is fully 64bit compatible. Variously called AMD64, x64, or x Besides, there really is nothing to be gained from Intel bit other than bragging rights.

It added a few new registers and that was about it. Admittedly PAE is an ugly hack, but it works. Also I believe the CPU clock speed are burst-mode, not sustained clocking rates. Generally a user just opens an app, or scrolls on a page, and for milliseconds, the CPU should be as powerful as possible and finish the task as quickly as possible and then fall back to sleep.

Sustained performance is theoretically interesting, but we are not running 3D Max or Photoshop on our phones yet, so sustained performance is actually not that important.

I have been developing apps, which thus far for Intel stuff have only been able to test with emulators and I have been doing that since last November. Google released the toolchain and emulators for 64bit Intel first in October, well before ARM compatibility was added.

Can an admin or someone please change this thread name to something along the lines of “Asus Zenfone 2 general discussion” please? Archive View Return to standard view. App compatibility will be interesting.

I hope it has qi wireless charging as well. Really hoping to be able to get this in Aus. Anyone else thinking of getting this? Wonder if you can install Windows 8.

Why would you ruin a phone like that. Anyone seen the low light camera demo on youtube? Too good to be true. The performance penalty comes from binary translation, which is precompiled binary.

Unlike bytecode, it will run directly and is ISA dependant. The only thing you can do is simulate the ISA with huge permance hit, nothing in the OS can change this except for a better simulator which has nothing to do with the OS.

All apps are compiled at or before runtime, the whole point of ART is to precompile whatever they can on installation instead of at runtime. When does this phone come out in australia?

I assume the cheap ones means the good Intel one is gonna be expensive. Both incredibly well priced! Super keen to get one. I am waiting on this phone as well, hopefully it is released in the next couple of months.

I just got an Asus Zenfone 5. So the magic is not for the original specs that were thrown around? Still a good phone and enough for a lot of people. Does anyone know the release date for australia?

Would also be nice to see how battery life compares to similar ARM based models too. Hopefully those issues are the exception, rather than the rule. Definitely a lot less interesting now.

Not sure why people are worried about an Australian release to be honest? Please feel free to contact us again if you need any further assistance. Best regards, Simon Digital World International”.

Where can I preorder online that will ship to australia? I very much doubt that. Yeah and unfortunately no band 28 support, which is a pity. Waiting for this to come up on DWI or eglobal. Wifi is single antenna Wifi AC.

Zenfone 2 released in Taiwan. I am wondering whether Android really need 4GB ram? Not going to buy from them just a price indication. Very cheap price points for all!

LTE bands listed are only bands 3, 8 and Yeah thats also the US site though. From the info I found last night: I think it said 16GB so must be the low end p model. Thanks for the clarification.

I wonder what they high end spec will be priced as. Specs taken from Asus: Asus has posted a new promo video They seem to be really focusing on the camera.

Wonder if the speakers are any good? As I remember their shipping cost is very high. Also the top model is not available to buy from Taiwan yet, so how can they ship it now?

If demand is high enough I might be able to deliver some zenfones let me know for the price, interested, cheers. Really that is not international warranty. It did say pre-order on eBay.

If you can wait, welcome purchase: It is worth to wait!! Will have to wait or the 4gb model to be released first. Advertised price is final price. Is it Asus Zenfone never have Aus Stock before, right?

The WW one is that Worldwide? I believe TW version would be best for AU: Any information on HD Voice support? The lack of information for these mid-level phones is very disappointing.

This phone ticks all the right boxes for me anyway. Found the bench marking review post below with Google translate. Hope it is helpful for those of you who understand it all.

I think he meant use the search tool on the main page. Some 4g band is missing from each of variants. A bit disappointing really. Chrome translates the page. However since the RAM is dual channel, it can have further performance implications as well.

Can anyone confirm if pchome has shipping to Australia? This version has been released in taiwan? Yeah it went on sale yesterday. Has anyone found a review? Also because of just released of course price will be a bit higher.

A lot of people think they will do it for free ;p Because it just been released the margin is very low I reckon. Why are there no reviews? Surely there are chinese reviews that have been translated?

The Anandtech guys told me on Twitter that they will be reviewing it in the coming weeks. The Z3 should still have the edge in camera and battery department. If you want the best battery life, nothing beats the Z3.

Sample pictures taken from the Zenfone 2. You bought it already? Nope, found it on the net. This guy in the US has got one and has taken it. These seem to be listed on t-dimension now. Hopefully receiving a ZEML today.

I can answer some of your questions when I get my hands on it. The p version with 2. I personally would not trust them. All of these resellers are dodgy as. I would not go anywhere close to these guys.

This is frustratingly confusing. I have purchased from t-dimension before without any issues. Got reply from t-dimension saying their product team will be correcting the information on their pages I just got an email saying they are refining the details on the site as well.

Sorry yes I saw the Android Enjoyed one. T-Dimension just confirmed that they will not have the phone in stock till 1st April. Nokia 6 buy at Amazon. Xiaomi Redmi 4 buy at Amazon. Xiaomi Redmi 4A 32GB.

I strongly recommend the phone; but I also strongly recommend you get a case! It is indeed quite a slippery devil. Fingerprint sensor is great, as is the fast camera startup by pressing the volume key twice or the print sensor.

I am very happy with it. Way too many issues with this device. I thought for 64GB it would be quick! Not sure what the two comments below are talking about, regarding the poor quality. I ordered my phone and a wallet-style phone case for it at the same time; the phone arrived a week earlier than the case – in that week, even though I was careful with it, it did fall on tiles.

The camera is sharp, intuitive, and so easy to use. Customising the phone to be exactly how you want it is so easy, too. It replaced an Idol One Touch that was just too fragile.

I switched to Android geo. IOS because of Apple insisting they own my pictures. The ZenFone 3 is an awesome piece of hardware. I have convinced my better half to ditch her iPhone for a ZenPhone.

They are charging me for it to be fix. The case is not made from. First time I dropped it less than two feet the case shattered but was still useable, with cracks across the screen. The second time was fatal.

Therefore I got two weeks use out of this phone, as against five years for my old Samsung. Only reason why I bought this model was because they would sell it unlocked I travel internationally a lot where as they would not sell the Google, apple or Samsung phones without being contracted to a carrier.

I bought the circle view flip case and I get comments on it all the time. I love this phone. Zenfone 3 is outstandingly fast and crisp. Overall, the phone is excellent in terms of speed, storage 64gb, apps, camera, etc.

Asus is amazing and i recommend this phone and the ultra. All pre-orders received will be fulfilled once the stock arrives by mid this month. Please keep an eye on your email that you have on the order as all the further communications will be sent on that e-mail.

I got a reply to my 3 or 4 questions of “no release date planned in australia as of yet. Was it difficult changing it to english, have you experienced any problems yet etc? Thanks for chasing that up Jarry.

I was very interested in getting this phone. You need to first ink deals with distributors, either carriers or electronic shops. They you need to have a support mechanism in place, after sales support, someone who can repair your phone, warranty claims processing, etc.

Add tax and legal and marketing to all of these. So with their limited resources, they of course have to first focus on countries that they can get these deals in place. Unfortunate because the girl on the phone was great, then i got a brush off.

The Taiwan 32gb version has yet to be released. This has got to be the most confusing mobile handset ever. There appears to be one model number with numerous variations and no easy way to tell them apart with model numbers.

They could always sell it through their store. Take the MemoPad 8. We can buy the MEc from their online store where if we buy it through local retail were stuck with the crappy a. So they can sell us products if they want.

Just do the same with the Zenfone. As for them selling it later this year. Well into the next financial year. Then promptly find a way to enable all the LTE bands I want. Very keen to get my hands on one when Ive decided what the best version that supports the most Optus LTE bands.

Does anyone know how to remove weather information on lock screen? Z2 had the most stable score through repeat testing. I forgot the 2 variant were using different processors Intel Atom Z vs Z 2.

Boasting a super fast quad core processor and a Full HD IPS display, this lightweight smartphone seamlessly combines beauty and power — right in the palm of your hand. Kogan are not the first sellers of this phone who got the specs wrong.

I am sure a few members on whirlpool have contact numerous sellers about confirmation of specs. Glad I saw this, almost pulled the trigger on one from Kogan. Assuming then its the p version?

False advertising on Kogans behalf. They need to pay more attention before placing products online with the incorrect details. Being Intel, is there any difficulty putting windows 8. Wonder if Asus will deliver a windows version of the phone.

Windows should run very nicely on this hardware. So I got in touch with Kogan and they agree that the advertised model and the specs are completely wrong, they will get in touch with their tech team to clarify the specs and model and advertise the correct product.

How long that will take, I am unsure but I have requested I receive an email when they have updated the listing. I am really hoping they actually sell the zeml 16gb version at that price.

See here for comparison — http: Where have people been buying from? All of them have at least band 3, so all will get some level of LTE, but 28 would make it a lot better. I only want the 5″ model so the price is right.

I have family in the US who are coming to visit in 3 weeks so I was going to post to them and have them bring it over. This is the available info on my DWI account order status: Item s Back Ordered Shipping information: This is why I havent bothered to order anything yet.

The 4GB versions seem to be out of stock everywhere anyway. By the time its readily available who knows what other phones will be out. The LG G4 is surely going to be anounced soon and it strongly intrigueing me at this point too.

In original DWI listing for the phone model they listed available after mid April with no specific date. The p video recordings look like upscaled p. Might have to go the whole hog for my Xperia Ultra upgrade and spend big on a Z4 or M9.

So just to confirm, there is a 32GB version with the faster 2. As a dedicated Telstra user in both cities and rural areas, will any variant that supports band 28 Mhz be fine for both 3G and 4G?

What a confusing line up. Like few others have indicated, the best one for Australia is Taiwan version. I have to wait and see what exactly it is bad if that is the Chinese version. Will update when I receive it hopefully in about 3 weeks time.

This eBay listing seems to be ideal in terms of bands Taiwanese version and specification but very pricey. Has anyone come across cheaper pricing or is it advised to wait a few weeks?

I wonder if there is any possible way to purchase it directly from Asus Taiwan and have a forwarding company send it to Australia. Could someone please sumarise the various versions, where they can be gotten from, and what to avoid?

Posted on last page http: What do you mean what to avoid? Some people may just want cheap 16GB p model and nothing wrong with them. Only one model available at eGlobal http: Superforever, that may well be me.

Not after the best. Just to add to the confusion are the LTE 4G bands used. But the WW model will be ok for some capital cities too. Just checked the Asus site and it went from new stock coming in 16hrs this morning to new stock in 15days!!

The Samsung smartphone camera does have some trouble with white balance in low light conditions, but the photos still come with a lot more detail when compared to shots taken with the Moto Z.

As far as the front cameras go, both phones are utilizing a 5 MP sensor, which work well enough for taking selfies, but the Moto Z has an advantage here with its front-facing flash, which can be extremely helpful when taking selfies in low light.

One of the best parts about Motorola is that they keep the software experience pretty close to stock Android, but with a few very useful additions built in. The Moto Z is running Android 6. You have features like the Moto Display that we mentioned earlier, and there is also Moto Voice, that lets you call upon your Moto Z from across the room.

Also available are a slew of gestures, such as the double chop to turn on the camera flash, and the double twist of your wrist to launch the camera. The only real down side now is that the Moto Z is a Verizon exclusive, so it comes with a lot of Verizon bloatware, and a host of pre-installed games and third-party applications.

An unlocked version will be coming soon though, but if you are looking to get the Moto Z right away, the bloatware is something you will have to deal with.

The Galaxy S7 Edge is also running Android 6. Samsung has been doing a better job with streamlining the software experience as much as possible, and what you get is a much cleaner and less bloated user interface than before.

With the Galaxy S7 Edge, you also get the Edge panels, that can give you quick access to apps, sports scores, the weather, your contacts, and a variety of other shortcuts, but just swiping in from the edge of the glass.

These panels can be useful, but like any new smartphone feature, you will have to train yourself to get used to them. Both of these devices are two really fantastic smartphones in their own right, but what it is really going to come down to is how much you value the Moto Mods, and how easily you can get your hands on one of them.

The Galaxy S7 Edge is the easier phone to get right now, with it being available from all major network carriers, and while an unlocked version of the Moto Z will be arriving soon, Verizon is your only option currently.

The Moto Z is a very solid option however, and the Moto Mods are just icing on the cake, providing a very elegant and simple way of modifying your smartphone. Android Authority newsletter The best way to stay connected to the Android pulse.

Dual Sim, but only one of them can be setup for data connection apparently. If all those bands are present in one device, then yes, it would put this phone right up there next to iPhone 6 as the best for global LTE coverage.

The chances of that with an Intel modem are basically close to none. Any open-world multiplayer survival Android game? So they can sell us products if they want. However you as a customer can import a device that is not certified and use it for your own use.
