I thought you could hold the power button and the windows button to get it to reboot, but the buttons don’t work either. Do you have the peek screen enabled? Same thing has happened once to me so far after OTA update 24 hours ago. I do have peek enabled. I’d say they’re just hiccups that will sort themselves out in a few days..

Same issue happened to me and my wife. We both have peek enabled. Haven’t seen this since the update, but maybe once or twice since I bought the phone. It seems to be weird timing issue, if you hit the power button to go screen off right when it is powering it off via time delay, it gets weird.

Since the screen will only respond to one touch at a time, it seems like it’s unresponsive. I have this happen all the time. A soft reset usually makes it responsive again. In my case, at least, it’s not the foam gasket under the faceplate, since I removed mine which reduced the number of screen alignments I have to do dramatically.

Do you have any sort of screen protection? With my Treo I tried taking the unit apart and the placing a screen protector on the full LCD to reduce dust and other items that could fall in between the cracks, but as soon as I did this the screen was unresponsive.

My bro had the same problem with his He wasn’t able to get it fixed. The screen started working last night about 3 hours later. The sd card became unresponsive at the time also with the card not being recognized and now eveything is working.

As far as screen protection I just left the one that came with the phone. Not very attractive but very heavy duty.

I went to sleep pissed off thinking I would implement the lockline protection but in the morning it seemed to be working fine. In the end I don’t know what caused the problem. And I don’t know what brought it back.

Now I just need to search through the screen protection threads and figure how to back up the phone in case this happens again. Here is a weird one. One minute I’m making a call, putting the phone in my pocket and the next minute the screen no longer works.

I think if you hit the Start button when the screen is supposedly “on” though, it may work so the screen should actually be off? Hmm, well I hate to report, it has happened again on my phone. Never happened previous to the update.

This time I was actually on a phone call. After call the screen remained unresponsive. Rebooted again to correct. I had Glance set to Peek. Turning it off to see if that changes anything.

I’ve seen this about 5 times from having my it happened again last night around 7: Normally I notice it when a incoming call comes in, I try to swipe up and nothing happens no matter what I do, after I miss the call, I can hit the power button and turn it back on, sometimes it will work other times, I need to soft reset it.

Just did it a second time for me. Sometime during a call. Had to reboot it. I’m not convinced it’s a hardware bug since I never had this happen prior to the update.

Funky Cricket Trusted Member. I’ve had lock ups, just with jet pack joy ride locking it up though. Yeah, I’ve had lockups too, but never, ever the type that makes the screen stop working forever until you soft reset.

So I doubt it is hardware related. This has happened to me a few times as well on my Can’t pin it down to what causes it because it has happened while doing different things on the phone. Similar Threads How to remove the security password in Lumia?

When i restart my phone by volume down and Power key it till dont work, but afther several restarts and 1 hour later it works again. I directly made a factory reset, men the same problem appeared again.

I dont know what to do to solve this problem. Had 3 problems in one year, overheating, screen flicker replaced screen then now screen again not working and unresponsive.

I love the Lumia for the Nokia Music app but if the quality of the phone is like this I might go back to apple or samsung. I regret buying this piece of shit. I was told to wait for 28 working days.

From the way they behaved it seamed to be a manufacture problem, at the same time they seam not to care that I needed to have a phone at least a basic one to make calls.

I took it to Nokia Care and after one and a half week they said it was fixed and i went to take it. After one hour my Lumia Freezed again!!! My nokia used to freeze from time to time till two weeks ago that it would reboot after getting a text message in the middle of a phone call or while in fb… two days ago just stop responding, restart, reset and restore, recovery tool..

I tried all the possible ways, soft reset, hard reset finally software recovery. I love this phone very much though. My lumia is hanged.. I dont know what to do?? After i checked up on various other users of Lumia handsets I found out that it is a cross-device quality control issue and cannot be rectified by Nokia care technicians.

Now I use it only occasionally and have found that the phone hangs up only when it heats up and has to be set aside untill it cools down. I have now shifted onto Samsung as they are providing better quality than Microsoft-Nokia combine.

The first time i bought a lumia, i updated it to lumia Denim. Hope this helps others. Nokia Lumia is not Responding, What should I do? Press and hold the volume down key and power key at the same time for about 10 seconds.

To switch your phone back on, press and hold the power key. Update your phone software.
