It is even worse when you add passengers in the third row. My children were complaining of nausea while riding in the the third row. As the driver, I felt the vehicle bouncing up and down as well And no, it wasn’t my driving style either!

Overall, it’s a nice vehicle. Areas of dissatisfaction – When car first turns on radio volume is not able to be adjusted until the system “boots up”, so if it was loud the night before, it’s stuck loud until it finishes loading.

Similar issue with camera – I will start backing up out of the driveway or a parking spot and then the screen will all of a sudden go black while the system starts loading. I many times have to repeatedly attempt to lock the car with the button on the handle and make myself stand closer, it feels like I have to stand 6 inches away from the door to make it work right.

My Camry I can be at full arms length away and it will work fine. This bothers me on a daily basis. It’s a great deal. My last two vehicles were Hyundai, a Elantra station wagon and a Santa Fe.

Both vehicles lasted forever and ran great. NO problems with either of them. My nephew is still driving the Santa Fe with no problems. I’m a little concerned about the choices for the locking system.

If a scary person were close by I would be horrified by that. I also don’t like that none of the car doors will lock if any of them are open, so I’m stuck standing there waiting for all the doors to close or having to dig in my purse for the keys.

The only complaint I have is the geometry of the steering wheel, the gages behind the steering wheel and seat is hard to get right. I am 5 foot 6 inches and when I adjust the seat I have trouble adjusting the steering wheel to see the instrument gauges.

The wheel block full view. Also, the steering wheel blocks the switches on the dash to the below left of the wheel. I sent a note to Hyundai regarding tire noise at 60 mph and higher.

These tires are not worthy to be installed on this vehicle. I love this vehicle. I have a hard time understanding why Hyundai would degrade vehicle performance with this tire, now and especially when it has a few more miles on it.

I checked tire reviews, the performance gets worse with more miles. Just to let you know, as of this note I have less than miles on my Santa Fe. After I bought this new vehicle after having it for one month or so, I found a relatively small but somewhat annoying issue related to interior fit and finish.

Our main frustration is that there was a slight shake in the car when we first got it. The dealership wanted us to drive it to see if it would eventually work itself out.

Unfortunately it did not and when we took it to get serviced they found that two of the tires were over 50lb off. Luckily everything was taken care of through the warranty and the dealership since it was sold to us like that and now it rides perfect.

Your seats do not heat as well as our KIA. Needs more cargo space in the back, and also needs arm rests in the front seat, especially the driver’s seat. Needs to come standard with a trailer hitch assembly if there isn’t that much cargo space.

Then you can attach a cargo tray to the back of the vehicle or similar device, or pull a trailer. I am very happy with my new car purchase except that when I bought it, it was not out with the ultimate tech package which is available now in the same model, make and year car.

For me the audio system took some time to figure out even though I’m good with electronics. But for the average person with not much electronic knowledge it can be a bit daunting.

Maybe making the new audio system a bit more user friendly would be a great feature. Drives very comfortably, even when loaded. Lots of power, handles well, quiet, well finished. Give me a digital speedometer in the center of the dash, where the distance to empty screen is.

Go look at a Garmin and copy their options and screen layouts. Don’t really care about the analog instruments. The ride is extremely comfortable and many features are available to improve the riding and safety experience s.

The car itself if priced right I bought them anyway. I highly recommend the Sante Fe! I would have bought another Veracruz because I liked the additional size of that machine.

One addition to the vehicle I would like is immediate door lock once driver is in place. It is a safety measure that most owners, especially women, would appreciate. The radio volume control on the center stack really sucks It is not responsive when you turn it.

A horrible error in an otherwise smart interior particularly since people use this. Would like remote start but I’m not paying a monthly fee for it and will be something I consider next time.

Some things on the Santa Fe are frustrating. The Santa Fe rear suspension needs to be worked on, as the back of the vehicle rides rough. Also, need to provide door guards, as the side of my vehicle is getting damaged by other vehicle doors that park next to me.

Hyundai does a lot of things right. MUCH better than the competition. Navigation System could be better, but even ‘as is’ it is easier to use than competition. Good Ride, Low Road Noise in most conditions.

Responsive and fun to drive. You’ll really like the car. Less Paperwork would be a blessing Presenting the Leasing “Interest Rate” in an understandable way is a challenge, because Leases use other metrics, However, the customer is used to thinking in terms of Interest, so it becomes very difficult to quantify whether he’s getting a good deal or a paying a terrible rate for the Lease.

Transparency is critical in the customer understanding the ‘deal’. It is much better than any of the other brands. Navigation system is better than most, but still needs improvements – See Garmin!!

Road Noise is much better than most cars – however, a high-pitch whine from the tires is evident on some road surfaces. An Active Noise Cancelling feature to reduce road noise would be a huge improvement – if possible to isolate those sounds.

I appreciate the extra effort put into making this car very focused on the driver’s needs. It is well done on the Santa Fe. The Android Auto is functional but the connection with the system could be tightened up a bit i.

Also the shift from first gear to second gear is a little rough at times, but overall smooth performance. Passengers seat should have all functions that drivers seat has! Front and rear window pillars obstruct view way too much.

Rear window is too small and obstructed view from second-row headrests. Almost had numerous accidents from obstructed view. Having rear side sensors without rear backup sensors is very cheap of manufacturer.

Only negative is that I have to pay for an app in order to have a remote start. The Santa Fe comes with a 5 yr. Is the Hyundai Santa Fe a good car? Edmunds experts have compiled a robust series of ratings and reviews for the Hyundai Santa Fe and all model years in our database.
