The Z10 keyboard is killer! Check out some communities and we recommend you subscribe to at least 5. Blackberry Classic Keyboard Backlight Issue self. Keyboard sound is still on. Thanks this was helpful including Andy’s input. The only way to do this is to switch your sound profile to “Silent” or “Vibrate”, but that mutes any other notifications as well.

For some like my wife – argg they aren’t bothersome, but for others, they just sound annoying and tick people off. Luckily you can easily turn off the keyboard sound or at least tone it down with a few quick steps.

Originally I had planned on getting the Q10 because I like the full keyboard. But now, please people, listen to me It is definitely better than a physical keyboard. Any time that I need to type a longish word 6 letters or more, it automatically predicts the right word and I swipe up to save a few keystrokes.

This is great and everything but what people care more about is the clarification push email situation with Blackberry 10 especially for Gmail. You should be writing about that first as that is more important than turning on swear words and turning off keyboard sounds!!!

They have already written about that, atleast twice. Couple of lines in a long review is not really a clarification. I expect more detailed explanation about the single most important feature of the BB which push email undoubtedly is.

Feel free to add any links you might have just in case I missed something.. I like the keyboard sound on virtual keyboards. I need the heptic feedback the vibration gives.

The keyboard is awesomeee Just swipe and your word is on the screen all is on screen anyway Z10 LOL. I like that sound, but it’s so annoying on This works for situations using the full qwert keyborad.

When using the dialing keyboard, the sound is always loud as it is. The only way to mute it is to adjust the phone into silent mode. Much better than the other answer of “No”; those responses should be deleted since they are incorrect.

I almost didn’t find this answer. I have the solution: Thanks this was helpful including Andy’s input. Have been struggling with this for a long time. Just leaving this here as I’ve already tested the method.

Toggling on “Sound” only in “Customize App Notifications” will not allow you to receive ring tones and notification sounds. You will need to toggle on “Override Profile Volume” and set a volume for your notifications and ring tone to be heard.

Doing so will still remove the dial pad sounds and able to hear the ring tone. Andy, I think it depends how the volume is set on the Normal profile. I have set the volume to full volume slider to the right, but just toggled the sound to off.

It then works even without “Override Profile Volume”. Of course, if the volume slider is set to “no volume” volume slider to the left, you must override the profile volume in order to hear the ring tone.

Your email address will not be published. Here are the instructions to turn the dial pad tone off but still hearing other notifications: How to find the folder path of a message.

I don’t have a Blackberry Passport available for testing, but I am sure that a Blackberry Classic behaves the same as a Passport when it comes to notifications and sounds. Make sure that you are currently in the “Normal” notification profile and that the sound is switched off for this profile.

This works for me and for many others. It was making me crazy that I couldn’t figure out how to turn off the keyboard sounds. It’s kind of ridiculous that the way to do it is somewhat convoluted.

Toggling on “Sound” only in “Customize App Notifications” will not allow you to receive ring tones and notification sounds. I’ve checked crackberry forums and this was the only answer that I found.

Has anyone discovered how to permanently fix this issue? Also, with Blackberry desktop manager, when I plug in my classic to my mac when the application tells me to do so to set up it seems like the application doesnt register when I connect the device.

How do I fix this as well? Blackberry desktop manager doesn’t work with Bb10 devices. You’ll have to get the newer version, Blackberry Link, and get Blackberry Blend as well, you’ll love it.

As for the light, maybe you should try loading a newer OS? Compare the version you have with the latest available on the crackberry forums, and try that. I had this exact issue with my passport.

It’s was a sensor fault and I returned it for a new one. I bought my classic 2 days old off of ebay so I guess a return is out of the picture. I might look into Sachesi to see if a beta update fixes the issue.

Sounds exactly like my problem. I also had proximity sensor issues which resulted in a screen that wouldn’t turn back on after calls. Reboots helped and it did become fewer and further between after a while but still persisted.

It’s a bigger PITA than it sounds so my sympathies are with you. Originally I had planned on getting the Q10 because I like the full keyboard. But now, please people, listen to me It is definitely better than a physical keyboard.
