Turns out that was the battery too I got my battery with my phone when I purchased it from the phone company, if you did too the battery is most likely legit. If it doesn’t reboot on the first attempt, leave it several more hours. I’ve had one charge for two days before it came back to life after an extreme battery depletion. Every hours, with the device still connected to the charger, you can remove and replace the battery to see if it reboots.

I just changed out the charging port in a BB and now I have the same icon. I took it apart many times, check connections and cleaned. Charged overnight and still no power.

It is recognizing the usb charger. I’m stuck with this issue too. My BB won’t turn on and when it does all i see is the battery with the red cross on it.

I tried charging for days but nothing happens. Went to the blackberry store and got a new battery but to no success. What is this issue? Anyone got a solution or will i just throw away my BB??? When the handheld displays the Battery icon with a red line through it, an incorrect battery type is inserted in the handheld. To resolve this issue, use only a RIM manufactured battery for your specific handheld model.

Curve batteries are normally blue at this time at least and Pearl batteries are yellow”. Talk to tech dial and say “my phone isn’t working” they will trouble shoot it with you call in on a different phone.

I was getting the red X battery and i used the paper trick and it worked. I also had to do an update after the blackberry was reconized. These are also very good ways to work I have tried everything else before that!!!

You have the wrong kind of battery. Your battery is not connecting with the prongs correctly. To fix 2 is also simple. Purchase the right kind of battery.

The BB thinks there is no battery inserted. Could be a bad battery, maybe the contacts are dirty I remember when I’d get this with my and I’d immediately freak out and plug it in to charge.

I also remember the few times when I’d find it dead in my pocket except for the red LED indicator when I’d turn it on. Turns out that was the battery too It’s rather intimidating, but like the others say it’s probably just the battery being drained completely.

Cleaning the 4 contact points helped. Don’t give up too soon!

I have taken the SD card and had it dried in the sunlight for two days continous and has kept the battery on charging for the days and it worked when i have assembled them later after two days!!!!!

The battery had become cold and just needed to warm up a bit. Thought it would never work but as a last resort, tried it Thank you to those that suggested this.

Show 3 more comments. To fix 2B is simple. Place a piece of paper folded a few times between the top edge of the battery and the phone to push it towards the prongs. Also, remove the SD card.

Sometimes Your Blackberry wont be recognized. If this is the problem, a pop-up window will pop-up and say something along the lines of; ” The BlackBerry Desktop Software cannot connect with this device.

This device is rebooting or has a dead battery. Click Retry to attempt to reconnect once the device reboots. If you get the message again, click repair. Go to step 4. Allow to charge for one hour and restart your phone.
